Driving Social Value in Croydon

Sureserve Compliance South have been actively delivering impactful social value initiatives for Croydon Council by supporting the local community through various programs. This case study highlights their efforts and achievements in enhancing community engagement and creating employment opportunities.

Supporting the Reduction of Crime

Sureserve Compliance South aimed to support the reduction of crime by engaging in local community projects. They donated a whiteboard, furniture, and installed an electric heating system at Tamworth Community Hub. These contributions have provided essential resources to the community, fostering a safer and more supportive environment.

Additionally, they engaged with over 30 students at a Croydon College careers fair, offering insights into career opportunities within the industry. This initiative aimed to inspire and guide students towards potential career paths, contributing to long-term crime reduction by promoting education and employment. They also hosted an apprenticeship open day at their Dartford head office, with 26 attendees from Croydon, further supporting the community's career development efforts.

Employment Opportunities

These initiatives focused on creating employment opportunities for unemployed residents in the area. Sureserve Compliance South offered eight apprenticeships, with four continuing into long term employment at the business and four now starting Level 1/2 Gas Apprenticeships. These apprenticeships provide valuable hands-on experience and training, equipping individuals with the skills needed for successful careers.

In addition to apprenticeships, Sureserve Compliance South provided two work experience placements and held CV writing and interview technique sessions. These sessions aimed to support future career paths by enhancing participants' employability skills and confidence to return to work. By offering these opportunities, they have played a crucial role in reducing unemployment and fostering economic growth within the community.

Environmental Commitment

Sureserve Compliance South have also added electric vehicles to their fleet on to maintained a strong environmental focus by ensuring 100% of waste was diverted from landfill and committing to an Air Quality Commitment Policy as part of their contract. These efforts demonstrates a commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. By prioritising waste diversion and air quality, they contribute to a healthier and more sustainable community.
