Sureserve Deliver Low Carbon Heating Solutions at Shoreham
Community Centre

Sureserve Compliance South, successfully secured the tender for the decarbonisation project at the Shoreham Centre,  commissioned by Adur & Worthing District Council.

This project involved the comprehensive design, supply, and installation of advanced energy solutions, including rooftop monobloc air source heat pumps, plate heat exchangers, pumps, pressurisation units, dirt separators, buffer vessels, and supporting bracketry. Additionally, the team insulated the buffer vessels and installed the
necessary pipework.

The project also required the removal of the existing flue systems, as well as upgrades to the Building Management System (BMS), including new control panels and field wiring. This initiative is a vital part of the council’s efforts to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability across their estate.

Air Source Heat Pumps

The project involved the installation of five Mitsubishi CAHV-P500YB-HPB Air Source Heat Pumps, configured in a cascading system with a modulating power range from 18 kW to 688 kW. This setup allows the building’s heat demand to be finely adjusted in 0.5 kW increments, ensuring optimal energy efficiency and complete building heat management.

The client also specified that the existing pipework in the plant room be modified and adapted to accommodate future conversion to a bivalent system, offering greater flexibility for future energy requirements.

Electrical Works

The electrical works included the installation of energy metering and a bespoke Building Management System (BMS) control panel, designed to interface seamlessly with all the newly installed plant equipment across the plant rooms.

This involved the full containment and wiring of all plant components, along with the commissioning of the controls and implementing a strategy for sequencing the plant to ensure efficient, coordinated operation for their durability, with a lifespan of up to 25 years, far outlasting traditional gas boilers.
